Power Profiles

Use the Power Profiles window to select options between power economy and performance modes. You can maximize your system's performance and conserve energy with this option.

NOTE: Due to the limitations of the VMware® ESXi version 3.5 operating system, the features described in this help page are not available with this release of OpenManage Server Administrator.

Power Profiles

Displays list of profiles available. You can either select a power profile, or choose custom to manually change the power profile attributes. When you click on 'Apply Changes' after selecting a profile, you will be prompted to reboot your system. Reboot System button appears. If you click this button, you receive more confirmation messages that you want to reboot your system.

NOTE: The power profiles could vary based on the type of system.

The available profiles are:

Power profile

Description

Maximum Performance This profile sets the processors to the highest supported processor state. It offers maximum performance mode with minimal power economy.
Active Power Controller This profile enables the demand-based power management controlled by BIOS.
OS Control This profile enables demand-based power management controlled by the operating system.
Custom This profile allows you to configure individual BIOS settings. It offers added control by displaying the underlying BIOS settings.  

NOTE: If you select any option other than Custom, you will not be able to modify values in the Custom Attributes option on the screen.

  • Minimum Power
  • Maximum Performance

Other Window Controls

Print Prints a copy of the open window to your default printer.
Export Saves a text file containing the contents of this window (the values of each data field separated by a customizable delimiter) to a destination you specify.
Email E-mails the contents of this window to your designated recipient. See the Server Administrator User's Guide for instructions about configuring your Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server.
Refresh Updates the screen with latest information.
