Temperature Probe List
The page shows a list of temperature probes. For each probe in the system, the
following fields are defined:
Status |
Displays whether the event type for the probe is
Normal/OK, Warning/Noncritical, or Critical/Failure. |
Probe Name |
Displays the alphanumeric
text that uniquely identifies a temperature probe; for example, Chassis Backplane. |
Reading |
Displays a snapshot of
temperature captured by the probe in degrees Celsius measured by the probe at a given
time. |
Minimum Warning Threshold |
Displays the lowest
acceptable temperature that is recommended for system operation. Values that fall below
this temperature level result in warning events. |
Maximum Warning Threshold |
Displays the highest
acceptable temperature that is recommended for system operation. Values that exceed this
temperature result in warning events. |
Minimum Failure Threshold |
Displays the lowest
acceptable temperature that is required for system operation. Values that fall below this
temperature result in critical/failure events. |
Maximum Failure Threshold |
Displays the highest
acceptable temperature that is required for system operation. Values that exceed this
temperature result in critical/failure events. |
Configure Thresholds for a Particular Temperature Probe
To configure values for a particular temperature probe, click the underlined name of
the probe. A configuration dialog appears, stating the name of the probe you are
configuring. You can configure the following three values for a temperature probe. If you
select default, you cannot configure the other two values.
Threshold Settings |
Select the radio button for either Set to
Default or Set to Values. If you click Set to Default, the default
warning thresholds will be in effect for this temperature probe. If you select Set to
Values, you can enter a number for the minimum and maximum warning threshold
temperature. |
Minimum Warning Threshold |
Displays the lowest
acceptable temperature that is required for system operation. Values that fall below this
temperature result in a warning event. |
Maximum Warning Threshold |
Displays the highest
acceptable temperature that is required for system operation. Values that exceed this
temperature result in a warning event. |
When you have finished configuring temperature probe threshold values, click Apply
Changes if you want your changes to this page to be saved. To return to the Temperature
Probes Information window, click Go Back to Temperature Probes Page.
