Boot Settings

Use this window to control the system boot settings.

NOTE: This help page may include information about features and values not supported by your system. Server Administrator only displays the features and values that are supported on your system.

Boot Mode

Determines the boot mode of the system.

UEFI Boot Settings Enables booting to Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) capable operating systems.
BIOS (default) Ensures compatibility with operating systems that do not support UEFI.

Boot Sequence Retry

Enables or disables the Boot Sequence Retry feature.

Disabled (default) The system will not re-attempt the Boot Sequence.
Enabled The system will re-attempt the Boot Sequence after a 30-second timeout if the last boot attempt has failed.

Generic USB Boot

When set to enabled, a Generic USB boot placeholder is placed in the UEFI Boot Sequence. This maps to the first bootable USB device in the boot sequence. The entry allows available even if the USB device is not present. This option is available only on UEFI Boot mode.

Enabled The option enables the Generic USB boot placeholder.
Disabled The option disables the Generic USB boot placeholder.

Hard-disk Drive Placeholder

When set to enabled, a Generic RAID HDD placeholder is placed into the UEFI Boot sequence. The entry is available until an operating system or a bootable file is installed on the RAID disk. This option is available only on UEFI Boot mode.

Enabled The option enables the Generic RAID HDD placeholder.
Disabled The option disables the Generic RAID HDD placeholder.

Hard-Disk Failover

Specifies which devices in the Hard-Disk Drive Sequence menu are attempted in the boot sequence. This field applies to BIOS Boot Mode only, and is disabled when BOOT Mode is set to UEFI.

Disabled (default) Only the first Hard-Disk device in the list is attempted to boot.
Enabled The Hard-Disk devices are all attempted in order as listed in the Hard-Disk Drive Sequence.

Set Boot Order FQDD1- FQDD16

The SetBootOrderFqdd fields specify a list of FQDDs representing the boot list to be applied on the next boot. The field displays the setting for n number of boot order.

Set Legacy HDD Order FQDD1- FQDD16

The SetLegacyHddOrderFqdd fields specify a list of FQDDs representing the Legacy HDD list to be applied on the next boot.
