Platform Event Alert Destinations
Use this window to select a destination where an alert for a platform event is to be sent. Depending on the number of destinations that display on your system, you can configure a separate IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) for each destination address. A platform event alert is sent to each destination IP address that you configure.
Your system displays a number of destinations. Click the number of the destination you want to configure.
NOTE: The number of
destinations that you can configure on a given system may vary. |
Destination Number
When you click a destination number, a separate screen opens, allowing you to enter an individual IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) for that destination. This is the IP address to which the platform event alert is sent.
NOTE: Due to the limitations
of the VMware ESXi operating system, the Setting Alert Actions feature
is not available with this release of Server Administrator. |
NOTE: You can set
the trap destination first four as IPv4 address and next four IPv6
address. Your system should support IPv6 to be able to configure the
IPv6 addresses. On 12G systems with iDRAC7 specific versions, you
can set the destination as IPv4, IPV6 or FQDN. For iDRAC7 version
details, see Server Administrator Readme. |
State
You can set the State to either of two settings: Enabled, in which case the platform event alert is sent to the Destination Number you entered; or Disabled, in which case an alert is not sent.
Destination IP Address
This field displays the information, if any, that is entered for each destination using the Set Platform Event Alert Destination window.
Destination Configuration Settings
Enter a value in the Community String field to act as a password to authenticate messages sent between a management station and a managed system. The community string (also called the community name) is sent in every packet between the management station and a managed system.
